Turkey’s Consumer Confidence Drops in July Amid Economic Uncertainty
Consumer-Confidence
The Consumer Confidence Index in Turkey declined in July 2025, reflecting a weakening outlook among households regarding the country’s economic future. The index, jointly calculated by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), fell by 1.8%, dropping from 85.1 in June to 83.5 in July.
This monthly dip suggests growing economic pessimism among consumers, particularly regarding both personal finances and the nation’s broader economic trajectory.
Consumer Sentiment Remains Fragile
Despite a relatively steady indicator on durable goods purchasing intentions, the overall mood remains cautious, with declining confidence in both household finances and macroeconomic prospects.
The data highlights ongoing concerns over inflation, currency volatility, and cost of living pressures, which continue to shape consumer behavior and spending patterns across the country.
