Turkey’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca has announced that the teachers, schools personnel, the ones who will be in places such as concerts and movie halls with large crowds and the ones who will make intercity journeys and have neglected getting vaccinated against COVID-19 will be requested to present PCR tests results starting from September 6, 2021.

In a message on his social media account, Minister Koca has also written, “Test means monitoring the COVID-19 health status. Let’s get good results from the PCR. Let’s get vaccinated.”

In another message that he shared this morning (September 2), the Health Minister asked citizens, “What happened to us,” adding, “We were an example for one another in terms of mask and distance!”

‘We will have 4,000 news losses of life’

Fahrettin Koca has shared the following evaluation about the current number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Turkey:

“As things stand in the table, we will have at least 335,000 new cases and 4,000 new losses of life in 2 weeks. We are paying a huge price as a society by ignoring the outbreak reality in daily life, by postponing the first dose of the vaccine and neglecting the follow-up doses.”
