Turkey knows that those who stir up unrest through harassment in the Aegean Sea act as “someone’s pawns,” President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Aug. 31.
“We know that those who sow unrest in the Aegean with their harassment are only pawns,” Erdoğan said at a military ceremony, referring to Greece.
Underscoring that Turkey will achieve its goals despite the presence of pro-tutelage circles that have no confidence in their country and nation, President Erdoğan said: “We are no longer a country for which a direction can be set through plots contrived over political and social fault lines. We are no longer a country whose economy can be put under shackles and exploited easily through trickery. We are no longer a country that looks at other countries’ capabilities with envy. That is so because Turkey, having gained political and economic freedom and having reached a position whereby it is capable of promoting its interests thanks to the moves it has made, is now a country that determinedly marches towards its goals.”
