Trump Erdogan phone call: Trump reminds Erdogan of Pastor Brunson again

Erdoğan Invites President Trump to Türkiye, Stresses Stability in Syria Supports Global Peace
President Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye is committed to preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and ensuring regional stability, noting that U.S. efforts to ease sanctions on Syria would contribute positively to this process. He added that a stable Syria would support both regional and global peace.
During the call, President Erdoğan extended an invitation to U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Türkiye.
Trump Recalls Pastor Brunson
U.S. President Donald Trump shared details of the phone call via his Truth Social account, describing it as “very good and productive.”
“In a very good and productive phone call with Turkish President Erdoğan, we discussed many topics, including the war between Russia and Ukraine, all things Syria, Gaza, and more,” Trump said in his post.
The U.S. President noted that Erdoğan had invited him to visit Türkiye at a later date, and that he, in turn, would be visiting Washington.
Reflecting on his previous term in office (2016–2020), Trump remarked:
“My relationship with President Erdoğan was excellent. We worked closely on many issues, one of which was the immediate release and return of Pastor Andrew Brunson to the United States, following my request.”
Referring to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Trump added:
“I look forward to working with President Erdoğan to bring an end to the ridiculous but deadly war between Russia and Ukraine.”
