TEPAV Reports 0.11% Rise in June Food Prices, Inflation Slowdown Continues

The June 2025 edition of the TEPAV Food Price Index (TEGE) revealed a modest monthly food inflation rate of 0.11%, according to data released by the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV). Covering the period from June 1 to June 30, the report confirms a continued deceleration in food inflation, extending a trend observed since the beginning of the year.
For the fourth consecutive month, the monthly increase stayed below 1%, signaling subdued price pressures across most food categories.
Mixed Trends in Fresh Produce and Packaged Goods
Within the fresh fruit and vegetable segment, mint, garlic, and parsley saw the sharpest price drops, offering some relief to consumers. Conversely, dill, green peppers, and lemons recorded notable price hikes, reflecting typical seasonal volatility.
Beyond fresh produce, the index highlighted price increases in dried apricots, fish, and pre-packaged meat meals. However, the report also identified declines in the prices of wrapped sugar, molasses, and ice cream, contributing to the overall moderation in inflation.
