Borsa İstanbul’s BIST 100 Index Rises 1.04% by Midday, Led by Financial Leasing Stocks

Borsa İstanbul's BIST 100 Index maintained its upward momentum in the first half of the trading day, gaining 1.04% to reach 9,478.9 points as of 1:00 PM local time.
The index rose by 97.95 points from the previous close, supported by moderate gains across major sectors. Total trading volume during the session hit 35.5 billion Turkish liras.
Financial Leasing Sector Leads Gains
Among sector indices, financial leasing and factoring topped the charts with a 5.44% increase, followed by banking and holding sectors with 0.8% and 0.84% gains, respectively.
The sports sector was the only segment to post losses, falling 1.75% by midday.
Currency Watch: Lira Remains Under Pressure
The Turkish lira continued to depreciate slightly against major currencies.

Market analysts attributed today’s performance to renewed investor interest in financial equities and expectations surrounding the Turkish Central Bank’s upcoming interest rate decision.
