President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet with Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan tomorrow (Tuesday, January 23).
According to Gazete Pencere’s Nuray Pehlivan, Erkan has three different options.
Among the allegations against Erkan is that he left the Monetary Policy Committee meeting in the middle of the meeting, citing his child as an excuse.
Prior to the meeting with Erdoğan, Erkan is expected to meet with the senior management of the economy and then have a detailed meeting with Erdoğan.

There are three different options for Erkan’s future at the Central Bank.
Among the options, it is said that Erkan may ask for his resignation in order not to harm the economic management and Erdoğan will process it, Erdoğan will wait for a while instead of making an immediate decision and then make a change in the post, or, in a low probability, Erkan will be allowed to stay in his post after making reparative actions for the mistakes he has made.
Who are the alternative names?
In the event that Hafize Gaye Erkan leaves her post, the names of Cevdet Akçay and Hatice Karahan, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, are rumored to take the helm of the Central Bank.
