Columnist:  High ranking AKP bureaucrat lobbying to have Simsek sacked

Mehmet Ali Verçin, a columnist for the KARAR newspaper (conservative, anti-AKP), brought up the allegation that there is an “influential group in Erdogan’s inner circle  that does not consent” to Mehmet Şimşek and his team, who was appointed to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

“For days, a team under the coordination of a female bureaucrat with very high-level duties lobbied effectively and sinisterly against the appointment of Mr. Şimşek before Erdogan and advocated the appointment of Mr. Kavcioglu (Former Central Bank governor, currently head of banking regulator BRSA),  but failed to succeed,” writes Verçin.

He also claimed that “demonization propaganda” was manufactured for Gaye Erkan. Verçin stated that these people, whose names he did not reveal, were influential in the appointment of Şahap Kavcıoğlu to the BRSA.

Verçin said, “When we put these rumors spoken in Ankara and the sentences used one after another, the opinion seems that this academic bureaucrat and his circle will not stop here and will work until Mr. Şimşek and Mr. Erkan give up. “These grave claims and predictions are so bold as to be unbelievable, but the truth is, we will live and see,” he said.
