Apikur: Oil producers deny the resumption of exports to Turkey

The Kurdistan Oil Industry Association (Apikur) said on Saturday that the Iraqi executive, the Kurdistan Regional Government and international oil companies have not reached any agreement for the resumption of oil exports through the pipeline

Oil producers operating in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of Iraq have denied reports of a deal to resume exports through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline, which was closed about a year ago. The Kurdistan Oil Industry Association (Apikur) said Saturday that the Iraqi executive, the Kurdistan Regional Government and international oil companies had not reached any agreement to resume oil exports through the pipeline.

“Unfortunately, to date, we have not yet seen any proposals” from the Iraqi government or the Kurdistan Regional Government, Apikur added. Among the Association’s members are international oil and gas companies with a direct or indirect interest in upstream oil or gas contracts in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Many of these companies had to stop production due to pipeline closures.
