Gaza Genocide Continues: 20,000 Children and 12,500 Women Killed
Gaza Massacre
The Government Media Office in Gaza has released new figures detailing the humanitarian devastation caused by Israel’s ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip, which has entered its second year since October 7. According to the report, 67,139 people have been killed, with the number rising to 76,639 including those still missing under the rubble.
Children and Women Bear the Heaviest Losses
The data reveals that children and women remain the primary victims of the Israeli campaign:
-
Children: Over 20,000 children have been killed, including 19,450 whose bodies were taken to hospitals.
-
Women: More than 12,500 women have died, including those still trapped beneath collapsed buildings.
-
Hunger and Cold: 460 people, including 154 children, have died from hunger and malnutrition, while 17 people—14 of them children—died from exposure and cold.
-
Health Workers and Journalists: 1,670 medical personnel and 254 journalists have been killed since the conflict began.
-
Pregnant Women: Over 12,000 pregnant women have suffered miscarriages due to the lack of food, stress, and medical care.
Systematic Destruction of Civil Infrastructure
The Gaza Media Office accused Israel of conducting a systematic campaign targeting civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, homes, and places of worship:
-
Health Sector: 38 hospitals and 96 medical centers have been bombed or forced out of service; 197 ambulances were targeted.
-
Education: Around 95% of Gaza’s schools have sustained damage. A total of 668 schools were directly hit, 165 of which were completely destroyed.
More than 13,500 students and 193 academics have been killed, leaving 785,000 children without access to education. -
Housing and Religious Sites: 268,000 homes were completely destroyed and 153,000 partially damaged. 835 mosques and 3 churches were bombed, some repeatedly.
Starvation and Collapse of Essential Services
Gaza’s humanitarian crisis has deepened as food, fuel, and medical supplies remain restricted. Local officials warn that starvation is spreading rapidly, particularly among displaced families in northern Gaza and Rafah.
The report notes that Israeli forces have allegedly opened seven mass graves inside hospitals and removed 2,450 bodies, accusations that have yet to be independently verified.
Growing International Pressure
The staggering figures have reignited calls from international organizations and rights groups for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza. Aid agencies warn that Gaza’s healthcare and education systems have collapsed, describing the territory as “unlivable.”
Meanwhile, a Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo to resume ceasefire negotiations brokered by Egypt, amid continued bombardments despite international appeals for de-escalation.
