Erdoğan Launches Peace Diplomacy Amid Escalating Iran-Israel Conflict

Netanyahu

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has launched an intense diplomatic initiative aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East. Following Israel’s controversial strike on Iran, Erdoğan held a series of high-level phone calls with global and regional leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Syrian President Ahmad Sharaa, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

The central message across these conversations: Israel is the primary threat to regional peace, and nuclear negotiations are the only viable path toward resolution.

Erdoğan and Trump Discuss Nuclear Talks, Regional Security

In his phone call with President Donald Trump, Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey is closely monitoring the Israel-Iran standoff and fully supports the continuation of nuclear diplomacy.

“Negotiation is the only way forward,” Erdoğan said, backing the U.S. stance in favor of resuming talks with Iran. He also stressed that Turkey stands ready to take any constructive step to prevent uncontrolled escalation.

Bin Salman: “Israel Must Be Stopped”

During his call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Erdoğan sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, labeling Israel as the greatest threat to regional stability.

“This reckless aggression not only targets Iran, but undermines peace efforts across the entire region,” Erdoğan said.

He also blamed the international community’s silence on Gaza for emboldening Israel, and warned that the attack on Iran was meant to sabotage ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Sisi Call: “No Room for Another Crisis in the Region”

In a call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Erdoğan condemned Israel’s attacks as a direct blow to regional security and a deliberate disruption of nuclear negotiations.

“The region cannot absorb another war,” he said. “Israel’s actions are not only illegal but strategically dangerous.”

He also stressed that the atrocities in Gaza must not be overshadowed by this new escalation.

Syria Must Stay Out of the Conflict, Erdoğan Tells Sharaa

Speaking with Syrian President Ahmad Sharaa, Erdoğan warned of a spiral of violence triggered by Israeli aggression. He emphasized that Syria should stay out of the conflict and be vigilant against terror groups and radical elements exploiting the crisis.

Sharif Call: Pakistan and Turkey Share Deep Concerns

In his conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Erdoğan reiterated that Israel’s assault on Iran is unacceptable and poses a serious threat to global stability.

He further warned that these attacks are an attempt to distract from the Gaza genocide, and called on the international community not to let Israel escape accountability.

King Abdullah: Netanyahu Government Is Undermining Global Stability

During his call with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Erdoğan said the Netanyahu government’s aggressive and unlawful actions are creating a broader global security crisis.

He called for stronger regional coordination to counter Israel’s attempts to derail diplomacy and destabilize the Middle East.

Erdoğan Expresses Condolences to Iran’s Pezeshkian

President Erdoğan also spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, extending condolences over the lives lost in the Israeli strikes.

“Turkey strongly condemns these unlawful attacks. We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran,” Erdoğan said.

A Coordinated Call for De-escalation and Diplomacy

In all of his calls, President Erdoğan underscored the urgent need to return to nuclear negotiations and prevent any further escalation. He warned that a new war in the region could spark waves of irregular migration, destabilize fragile governments, and reignite terrorism.

“Turkey will continue to champion peace and stand against further violence,” Erdoğan affirmed.
