Erdoğan Vows to Eradicate Terrorism, Calls for Unity During Eid Address

In a video address marking Eid al-Adha, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reaffirmed his government’s unwavering resolve to eradicate terrorism from Türkiye, describing it as a “sacred goal” that will “unite 86 million citizens in eternal brotherhood.”

“We are on the path to completing this process without deviation,” Erdoğan said, warning that any setbacks would not be tolerated. He framed the fight against terrorism as a national duty and a cornerstone of unity, especially during a time of spiritual reflection.

Criticism of Opposition Over Mismanagement and Corruption

Erdoğan also used the opportunity to criticize the main opposition, accusing them of “populist mismanagement” and referencing recent corruption investigations targeting municipalities run by opposition parties.

“They can’t even manage a handful of municipalities without scandals,” he said.

His remarks come amid growing political tensions as investigations into alleged misconduct in local governments continue to make headlines.

Türkiye’s Role in Global Peace Efforts Highlighted

Turning to foreign policy, the president praised Türkiye’s diplomatic initiatives, including its efforts to mediate peace between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that Türkiye continues to be a respected interlocutor in global affairs and a trusted venue for international negotiations.

Economic Outlook: Optimism on Inflation and Exports

Despite economic challenges, Erdoğan pointed to positive signals in the Turkish economy, particularly improvements in inflation trends and growth in exports. He assured citizens that “the country is recovering and advancing in the right direction.”

Solidarity With Gaza and a Call for Compassion

On the ongoing crisis in Gaza, Erdoğan expressed solidarity with Palestinians, denouncing the suffering caused by “bombs and destruction.” He urged his party and citizens to extend support to orphans and war victims during the Eid holiday.

Erdoğan closed his address with a broader vision for the country’s future:
