Households Predict Lower Inflation for Next 12 Months, Survey Shows
Inflation
According to Koç University’s Household Inflation Expectation Survey, consumer expectations for future inflation in Türkiye continued to decline in June. The survey found that households now forecast 63% inflation over the next 12 months, down from 67% in May.
Year-End Forecast Also Eases, But Perceived Past Inflation Remains High
The year-end inflation expectation also dropped, from 69% to 67%, reflecting growing optimism that price increases may slow in the coming months. However, perceptions of past inflation remained unchanged, with respondents estimating the inflation rate over the previous 12 months at 73%.
These findings suggest that while households remain cautious, their outlook for future inflation is softening, even though the memory of recent price hikes continues to shape economic sentiment.
