Türkiye Fuel Prices: Mixed Changes for Gasoline and LPG Users

Gas Prices

Vehicle owners across Türkiye are preparing for a shift in pump prices effective at midnight, as global Brent oil prices and local currency fluctuations trigger updates to the price boards. According to the latest industry reports, gasoline prices were initially projected to rise by a significant 2 TL per liter.

However, a strategic intervention known as the SCT shield (Special Consumption Tax) has absorbed 75% of this increase. As a result, only 50 cents of the hike will be passed on to the consumer at the pump, preventing a more severe impact on the Turkish transportation sector. Following this adjustment, gasoline prices in Ankara are expected to reach approximately 65.41 TL per liter.

LPG Users See Relief While Diesel Remains Steady

In a positive turn for autogas (LPG) consumers, a price reduction is set to take effect alongside the gasoline hike. Although technical calculations suggested a larger drop, the final reflected discount at the pump will be 34 cents per liter. This minor relief brings the average LPG price in Istanbul down to roughly 34.65 TL.

Meanwhile, the diesel (motorin) market remains stable during this period, with no changes announced for the night. Currently, diesel prices in Türkiye continue to hover around 71.72 TL in Istanbul and up to 73.11 TL in Izmir, maintaining a high baseline for logistics and commercial transport.

Regional Pricing Disparities Across Major Cities

The updated price lists highlight the ongoing regional price differences influenced by distribution costs and local competition. While the SCT intervention has mitigated the headline increase, the overall trend in Turkish energy costs remains upward, keeping the pressure on household budgets.

Industry experts note that while the fuel tax policy has temporarily softened the blow for gasoline users, the volatility of the Turkish Lira and international crude markets means that price boards will likely continue to see frequent revisions throughout the month. Drivers are advised to monitor the latest fuel price boards as small variations between distribution companies and districts may occur.
