İŞKUR Reports Rise in Job Postings, Decline in Unemployment in June 2025

Türkiye’s official employment agency İŞKUR has published its June 2025 labor market statistics, revealing a notable rise in job postings and a decline in registered unemployment compared to the same month last year. The data provides insight into shifting labor dynamics amid persistent macroeconomic pressures.

Job Postings Rise in June, Despite 6-Month Decline

In June 2025, the number of open job positions collected from employers increased by 7.31% year-on-year, rising from 193,968 in June 2024 to 208,139. However, during the January–June 2025 period, total job postings saw a 10.74% decline, falling to 1,195,954.

A striking 98.4% of open positions were in the private sector, with the manufacturing industry accounting for the highest share—419,816 vacancies in total. In terms of occupations, demand was highest for:

  • Tourism and Hospitality Staff

  • Unarmed Private Security Officers

  • Service Staff

Unemployment Drops Slightly

As of June 2025, the number of registered unemployed individuals fell to 2,185,273, marking a 3.04% decrease compared to 2,253,851 in June 2024.

The demographic breakdown shows:

  • 49.3% male, 50.7% female

  • 21.7% aged 15–24, reflecting ongoing youth unemployment challenges

Over 145,000 Job Placements in June Alone

İŞKUR successfully facilitated 145,900 job placements in June:

  • 88,520 men (60.7%)

  • 57,380 women (39.3%)

During the first six months of 2025, İŞKUR mediated a total of 759,945 placements, with the manufacturing industry again leading all sectors.

The top professions for job placements were:

  1. Tourism and Hospitality Staff

  2. Unarmed Private Security Officer

  3. Retail Shelf Attendant

More Women and Youth Placed in Jobs

Between January and June 2025, İŞKUR helped place:

  • 287,353 women

  • 243,239 young people

  • 25,260 individuals with disabilities

  • 148,853 university graduates

These figures underscore İŞKUR’s role in targeting inclusive employment, supporting female participation, youth integration, and disability-inclusive hiring.
