Cost of Living for a Family of Four in Istanbul Hits TL90,032 – Up 52% Annually

The Istanbul Planning Agency (İPA) reported that the monthly cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul has soared to ₺90,032 as of April 2025, marking a 51.74% annual increase. Compared to the previous month, living expenses rose 2.91%.

The updated Cost of Living Report calculates expenses across 10 key categories including food, housing, transport, and healthcare, using a basket of 321 items.

This surge underscores growing economic pressures on urban families in Türkiye’s largest city amid ongoing inflation and housing challenges.
