Video Commentary: Can The Opposition Rescue Turkish Economy?

Thanks to President Erdogan’s policies bordering on insanity, the economy is a mess:  Inflation 80%, devaluation 50%, unemployment 20%.

 

  • It will get worse; Moody’s just downgraded the Treasury.

 

  • With 11 months left to general and presidential elections the opposition Nation Alliance leads in both polls.

 

  • AKP claims the opposition has no economic plans and only Erdogan can recue the economy.

 

  • Is he correct? Or, does the opposition have a valid plan to set things right?

 

  • The answer is nuanced: For a year or two the opposition will do better. Afterwards?
