Health Sector
Authorities in Kırıkkale have arrested a Yüksek İhtisas Hospital employee accused of a major abuse of medical authority — illegally prescribing 1,998 units of controlled drugs using doctors’ e-signatures.
The suspect, identified as M.T.C., allegedly accessed the user accounts of four different doctors at the hospital without authorization. Investigators found that prescriptions were issued for eight different patients, amounting to 37 boxes of green-prescription drugs, which are strictly regulated in Türkiye due to their high abuse potential.
The operation, conducted by the Kırıkkale Provincial Police Department’s Anti-Narcotics Division under the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, led to the suspect’s capture.
Drugs Found at Home Search
A search of M.T.C.’s residence uncovered a drug consumption device (pipe) and a quantity of narcotics. The suspect is now facing both criminal and administrative investigations.
