Erdoğan, Qatari Emir Discuss Israel-Iran Tensions and Gaza Crisis
Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani & Erdoğan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a phone call on Tuesday to discuss the escalating Israel-Iran conflict, as well as bilateral relations and broader regional developments, according to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.
During the conversation, Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict, which intensified following Israel’s strike on Iran. He stated that Ankara remains committed to breaking the cycle of violence gripping the region.
Erdoğan Blames Netanyahu for Regional Instability
Erdoğan repeated his stance that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu poses the “greatest threat to regional security”. He also warned that recent Israeli military actions should not divert global attention from the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, which he described as genocide.
The Turkish president further stressed the importance of preventing the conflict from spreading into Syria, underlining the need for regional restraint and humanitarian focus.
