Latest polls:  AKP candidates doing poorly in Ankara, Istanbul

A recent poll, brought to light by reliable journalist Deniz Zeyrek shows CHP mayor Mansur Yavas leading the newly-nominated AKP rival Mr Tevfik Altinok. An earlier poll by DI-EN showed Mansur Yavas still leads the race against the then potential AKP rivals, but the difference seems to be narrowing.  In 6 out of 7 recent city polls, CHP mayor Imamoglu leads AKP nominee Mr Murat Kurum.

Sözcü Newspaper writer Deniz Zeyrek shared the results of an election survey conducted by AKP for Ankara. Zeyrek, who was a guest on the “Alarm Hour” program on FOX, said that he would give backstage information about the local elections.

Zeyrek stated that AKP conducted a survey for Ankara which revealed  that the satisfaction rate for Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş was 64 percent in the survey in which 16 thousand people participated, and that the rate of those who said they would vote for Yavaş in the same survey was around 55 percent.

Mansur Yavaş’s opponent in the local elections is AKP’s Ankara candidate Turgut Altınok.

Asal Research Agency shared the results of the election survey for Istanbul. Participants were asked: “Which candidate would you vote for if there was an Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality election this Sunday?” It was stated that in the survey study in which the question was asked, a total of 2 thousand 500 people were interviewed.

According to the survey results, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was calculated to be 3.6 points ahead of AKP’s candidate Murat Kurum.
