CHP came first in Sonar Research’s survey regarding the Istanbul elections to be held at end of March 2024. In the candidate-based research, incumbent CHP mayor İmamoğlu outperformed the other candidates with 31 percent.

As local elections approach, polling companies have stepped up their research on the public’s political orientations. The latest research came from Sonar Research, owned by Hakan Bayrakçı. The results of Sonar’s survey for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) have been revealed.

In the survey shared by journalist İsmail Saymaz and conducted last week, participants were asked, “Which political party candidate would you vote for if there was an Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality election this Sunday?”

CHP  in first place

After the “proportional distribution of undecided voters”, CHP ranked first in the survey with 41.1 points. AKP came right after CHP with 39.6 points. In the survey, pro-Kurdish rights DEM Party remained at 4.8 points, MHP at 3.7 points, and İYİ Party at 3.2 points. The score of other parties was 7.6.
