Capacity utilization rate of the manufacturing sector continues to decline

Capacity Utilization Rate decreased by 1.2 points compared to the previous month and realized as 74.6 percent; while it had decreased by 0.3 points in December 2024.

In January 2025, the responses given to the Business Tendency Survey by 1745 businesses operating in the manufacturing industry were aggregated and evaluated.

According to the statement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the Capacity Utilization Rate (CUR), which is not seasonally adjusted, decreased by 1.2 points compared to the previous month and realized as 74.6 percent.

Seasonally adjusted capacity utilization rate (CUR-MA) across the manufacturing industry decreased by 0.8 points in January compared to the previous month and realized as 74.8 percent.

Real sector confidence increased in January

According to the statement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), when the diffusion indices of the survey questions that make up the index are analyzed, evaluations regarding fixed capital investment expenditure, export order quantity in the next three months, current finished goods stock, current total order quantity and production volume in the next three months affected the index upwards, while evaluations regarding total orders in the last three months, total employment in the next three months and general outlook affected the index downwards.

The non-seasonally adjusted Real Sector Confidence Index (RSCI) increased by 1.8 points compared to the previous month and realized as 100.9.

In January 2025, the seasonally adjusted Real Sector Confidence Index (RKGE-MA) decreased by 0.1 points compared to the previous month and became 102.6.

“In evaluations for the last three months, it is seen that the course in favor of those reporting a decrease in production volume, domestic market order quantity and export order quantity has strengthened compared to the previous month.
