Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education has launched a nationwide initiative encouraging students to create AI-powered animation films inspired by the life of the Prophet Muhammad. The project aims to promote digital creativity and responsible AI use, culminating in a national competition where top students will be awarded Umrah trips.
AI Meets Education in National Initiative
Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education has introduced a new program titled “Digital Content Development with Artificial Intelligence”, designed to integrate emerging technologies into education.
The initiative is being coordinated by the ministry’s Directorate General for Religious Education, in partnership with the Ilim Yayma Society and the Ilim Yayma Foundation.
The project coincides with the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, combining cultural content with technological skills development.
From Content Consumers to Creators
The program aims to shift students from passive users of digital platforms to active content creators.
- Around 10,000 middle and high school students are expected to participate
- Students from all school types across Türkiye are eligible
- No prior technical knowledge is required
Participants will develop skills in AI-assisted content production through a structured learning process.
Four-Stage Program Structure
The project is organized into four key phases:
- Training
- Production
- Competition
- Awards
Training modules begin at a basic level and guide students through the fundamentals of digital storytelling and AI tools.
Broad Skill Development
The curriculum covers a wide range of digital and creative competencies, including:
- Prompt writing for AI systems
- Visual design and infographic creation
- Music and video production
- Scriptwriting
- Comic and animation development
Officials say the program is designed to enhance:
- Analytical thinking
- Problem-solving skills
- Research capabilities
- Interdisciplinary learning

Linking Technology with Cultural Content
A key feature of the project is its emphasis on meaningful content creation.
Students will work with selected materials from official textbooks on the life of the Prophet Muhammad, ensuring that:
- Technological skills are paired with cultural understanding
- Students engage critically and creatively with the subject matter
Each participant will also be guided by a volunteer teacher mentor from their own school.
Competition and Awards
Students who complete the training and achieve at least 80% success will be eligible to submit their projects.
The competition will feature categories such as:
- Animation films
- Music and video clips
The timeline is as follows:
- Training: April 1 – May 1
- Project submission: Until May 10
- Awards ceremony: June 11
Winners in each category (first, second, and third place) will receive Umrah trips.
