In a comprehensive video address, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Ramadan message provided a detailed update on Turkey’s national security posture and the next phase of the “Terror-Free Turkey” initiative.

Speaking against a backdrop of heightened regional tension following the March 2026 missile exchanges between Israel and Iran, the President reassured the nation that Turkey remains a “haven of stability” under capable leadership.

President Erdoğan’s Ramadan Message: Defending Turkish Airspace Amid Regional Conflict

President Erdoğan addressed the recent escalations that began on February 28, 2026, involving Israeli provocations and subsequent Iranian missile and drone retaliations. Notably, he confirmed Turkey’s decisive stance regarding foreign munitions entering or violating Turkish airspace.

“We are taking a very determined position against actions that violate our airspace,” Erdoğan stated, referring to the successful interception of ballistic threats by NATO and national defense systems in early March. He emphasized that the government is moving to further fortify the nation’s security infrastructure to ensure the peace of 86 million citizens remains undisturbed by the conflicts on Turkey’s borders.

The “Terror-Free Turkey” Process: Moving to the Grand National Assembly

A major portion of the message was dedicated to the “Terror-Free Turkey” process, which was initiated 17 months ago. • Liquidation of Terror Elements: He reiterated that steps toward the full liquidation of terrorist organizations would be taken without delay to prevent “bloody scenarios” from being staged in the region.
