Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has stated that growing confidence in the country’s economic program is driving positive shifts in expectations. His remarks came after the World Bank revised Türkiye’s 2025 growth forecast upward, contrary to global trends.
In a post on social media platform X, Şimşek highlighted that while the World Bank downgraded the growth outlook for nearly 70% of global economies, it raised Türkiye’s projection by 0.5 percentage points.
“This upward revision reflects the growing confidence in our economic program,” Şimşek wrote. “We are determined to continue implementing policies that strengthen the foundations of sustainable high growth.”
The statement reinforces Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline, and structural reforms as part of its medium-term economic strategy.
