Türkiye Secures $6.7B in International Funding for Earthquake Recovery

Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced that the country has secured a total of $6.7 billion in long-term, low-cost financing from international institutions over the past two years to support the reconstruction of earthquake-affected regions.
In his latest remarks regarding a new financing deal with the Islamic Development Bank, Şimşek confirmed that an additional €200 million will be directed toward rebuilding efforts. He emphasized that the country’s declining risk premium is improving access to foreign financing and is expected to further enhance Türkiye’s ability to secure external funding on favorable terms.
