Over 544,000 beneficiaries supported through April payments, says Family and Social Services Minister Göktaş

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the government has begun disbursing ₺5.4 billion in Home Care Assistance for severely dependent individuals and their families this month.

Program Prioritizes In-Home Support for the Disabled

In a written statement, Minister Göktaş recalled that the Home Care Assistance Program was first launched in 2006 to support individuals with disabilities within the family environment. She emphasized that the ministry prioritizes in-home care solutions to preserve family unity and enhance the well-being of disabled individuals in their familiar surroundings.

Monthly ₺10,125 Paid Per Eligible Beneficiary

Göktaş stated that eligible beneficiaries currently receive ₺10,125 per month, noting that the April payment cycle has already started.

“We have started transferring a total of ₺5.4 billion to the accounts of our citizens who are severely dependent and receive care at home, along with their families,” said Göktaş. “On average, around 544,000 citizens benefit from the program monthly.”

She extended her wishes that the payments would bring relief to all families and individuals involved.

A Rights-Based, Transparent Approach

Minister Göktaş also reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to maintaining a rights-based and transparent social assistance system, especially in the field of disability support.

“As the Ministry, we will continue to ensure that all support services in the disability field remain sustainable and accessible through transparent practices,” she added.
