Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade announced a significant expansion of the KOOP-DES Cooperative Support Program, increasing both funding and grant limits to strengthen the country’s cooperative movement. Designed to boost production, employment, and competitiveness, the initiative has already delivered ₺110.5 million in grants to cooperatives since its launch in 2020.

Empowering Local Growth Under the “Century of Türkiye” Vision

Under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s “Century of Türkiye” vision, KOOP-DES aims to extend production across communities, empower women and entrepreneurs, and promote local development through cooperative enterprises. The program provides grants for the purchase of machinery and equipment, participation in fairs and exhibitions, and hiring qualified personnel.

According to the ministry’s statement, KOOP-DES has supported 772 cooperatives across 826 projects between 2020 and 2024. These investments have enhanced production capacity, created new jobs, and stimulated local economies, contributing directly to Türkiye’s broader development goals.

₺34.8 Million in New Grants for 2025

The latest round of project evaluations for the 2025 call period has been completed. As a result, 63 cooperatives from 45 provinces will receive a total of ₺34.8 million in grants this year.

The supported provinces include Adana, Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Antalya, Balıkesir, Batman, Erzurum, Hatay, İstanbul, Kocaeli, Konya, Malatya, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, and Trabzon, spanning nearly every region of the country.

These projects target a wide range of sectors—from production and marketing to branding and exports—helping cooperatives improve their competitiveness and sustainability in domestic and international markets.

Support Limits Increased for 2025

Acknowledging rising costs and changing market conditions, the Ministry of Trade has raised KOOP-DES support limits for 2025:

  • Machinery and equipment support: raised from ₺400,000 to ₺1 million

  • Exhibition and fair participation: increased from ₺60,000 to ₺150,000

  • Qualified personnel employment: raised from ₺408,000 to ₺532,800 per year for up to two employees

The ministry emphasized that these adjustments will enable cooperatives to invest more effectively in technology, quality improvement, and professional expertise — all key drivers for long-term success.

Building a Sustainable Cooperative Economy

Through KOOP-DES, Türkiye continues to reinforce its cooperative ecosystem as a foundation for inclusive and regionally balanced growth. Officials say the program not only fosters economic resilience but also enhances social solidarity by enabling small producers, women’s cooperatives, and rural entrepreneurs to access new markets and resources.

By aligning financial support with the “Century of Türkiye” development goals, the government aims to turn cooperatives into powerful engines of local prosperity, innovation, and employment
