Türkiye and Oman Sign Energy Cooperation Deal Covering Oil, Gas, and Renewables

Oman Turkey Energy Deal

Türkiye and Oman have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation across key energy sectors, including oil, natural gas, electricity, renewables, and hydrogen technologies.

The agreement was formalized during a working visit to Muscat by Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, who met with Oman’s Minister of Energy and Minerals, Salim Nasser Al Aufi.

Bayraktar: “We’re Opening the Door to Concrete Energy Collaboration”

Sharing the update on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Bayraktar emphasized that the MoU paves the way for joint projects spanning the entire energy value chain:

“From exploration and production to transportation and processing of oil and gas, we aim to work together in all areas.”

He further highlighted the importance of advancing collaboration in electricity generation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and hydrogen technologies, including technical know-how exchange and project implementation.

Focus on Diversification and Strategic Partnerships

Bayraktar underscored that the MoU will help both nations expand their cooperation beyond hydrocarbons, enabling mutual benefits in a changing global energy landscape:

“This agreement will deepen our cooperation with concrete projects and contribute to shared gains for both countries.”

Türkiye’s push for diversified energy partnerships aligns with its broader goals of energy security, green transition, and regional influence in the evolving energy market.
