Turkish Exports Hit Historic High in July, Says Finance Minister Şimşek

Turkey’s export performance reached an all-time monthly high in July, marking a year-on-year increase of 11%, according to Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek. Annual exports climbed to $269.4 billion, while imports rose only slightly to $357.7 billion.

Trade Performance Defies Global Uncertainty

Taking to social media, Minister Şimşek emphasized that despite ongoing global economic uncertainties, Turkish exporters have delivered a strong performance, showcasing their agility and success in diversifying products and markets.

“This robust performance is a clear reflection of our exporters’ dynamism and success in diversifying both products and markets,” Şimşek wrote.

Turkey’s Position in Global Supply Chains Strengthens

The minister highlighted that the current trade outlook signals strong service revenues, a manageable current account deficit, and a sustainable growth dynamic. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to pushing Turkey further in the global value chain through high value-added production and innovation.

“We will persist with structural reforms that reinforce macro-financial stability and transformation towards high-tech, high-value-added industries,” he added.
