Turkey’s Ports Handle 47.68 Million Tons of Cargo in July 2025, Up 8% Year-on-Year

In July 2025, the total cargo handled at Turkish ports reached 47,679,802 tons, marking an 8% increase compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs.
Between January and July 2025, cargo throughput at ports rose 3% year-on-year to 322,818,212 tons.
In July, cargo exported to foreign ports increased 5% to 12,493,192 tons, while cargo imported from foreign ports jumped 13.5% to 23,098,434 tons. Overall, international cargo traffic rose 10.4% year-on-year to 35,591,626 tons.
However, transit cargo transported by sea dropped 14.4% to 5,529,163 tons, while coastal shipping (cabotage) cargo surged 21% to 6,559,013 tons in July.
