Turkey’s July Tourism Sees 5% Drop Amid Price Concerns
Tourism in Turkey
Turkey’s tourism industry faced a setback in July, as foreign arrivals declined by 5% year-on-year, according to data released Friday by the Tourism Ministry.
The country welcomed 6.97 million visitors, down from 7.33 million in July 2024 and 7.14 million in July 2023, marking a two-year low for the peak summer month.
The largest share of tourists came from Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, Poland, and the Netherlands, reinforcing Europe’s continued role as a key source market.
Industry experts point to rising travel costs in Turkey as a major factor behind the slowdown, warning that higher prices are dampening demand despite the country’s strong appeal as a Mediterranean destination.
