Turkey’s Crude Oil Imports Up Nearly 5% in April

Turkey’s crude oil imports rose by 4.98% in April, reaching 2.89 million tons, according to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK). The data comes from the latest Petroleum Market Sector Report, offering a detailed snapshot of the country’s energy landscape.
Petroleum Imports and Refinery Output See Significant Growth
In total, petroleum product imports climbed 2.16% year-over-year, amounting to 4.29 million tons. The import of diesel fuel types saw a marginal rise of 0.37%, totaling 1.08 million tons.
Meanwhile, domestic refinery output jumped by 7.33%, producing 3.41 million tons of petroleum products. Key production figures included:
-
Diesel fuel production: Up 5.42% to 1.4 million tons
-
Gasoline production: Rose 11.82% to 424,581 tons
-
Aviation fuel: Soared 44.94% to 574,569 tons
-
Marine fuel: Dropped 32.16% to 76,481 tons
These figures signal robust industrial activity, particularly in transportation-related fuel production, despite a sharp dip in marine fuel output.
Domestic Sales Climb as Exports Dip
Petroleum product sales within Turkey increased by 5.78%, totaling 2.67 million tons in April. This includes:
-
Gasoline sales: Up 10.3% to 439,697 tons
