Turkey Faces No Risk of Widespread Power Outages: Minister

Alparslan Bayraktar

As recent massive power outages in Spain and Portugal have raised concerns over energy security across Europe, Türkiye’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar assured that Türkiye’s electricity infrastructure remains secure and stable.

“There is no issue in our transmission or distribution lines that would lead to a nationwide outage,” Bayraktar said in a public statement addressing growing concerns.

Strong Grid, Low Risk

Bayraktar emphasized that Türkiye’s power grid is technically robust, with no structural vulnerabilities that would threaten electricity supply security.

“Our system carries no risk of a general outage. There are no structural issues threatening our electricity supply,” he noted.

The Minister added that routine inspections and system checks are ongoing, and that Türkiye’s national energy infrastructure is well-equipped to handle potential disruptions. He also reassured the public that there is no cause for concern over power stability in the country.

Monitoring Europe’s Energy Situation

Bayraktar acknowledged the power failures in Europe and stated that Türkiye is closely monitoring developments. He reiterated that Türkiye’s proactive energy management and resilient national grid help shield the country from similar crises.
