The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) has announced that the recently launched Nefes Loan Program, designed to ease credit access for SMEs, has already reached a loan volume of ₺16.2 billion, benefiting 11,900 firms.

According to the official statement, the credit package, launched last week, continues to receive strong demand from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling with financing access.

“As of today, 11,900 firms have been approved for a total loan volume of ₺16.2 billion under the TOBB Nefes Loan Program,” TOBB stated.

₺25 Billion Government-Approved Cap

The Turkish government has approved a total allocation of ₺25 billion for the program. TOBB confirmed that loan applications will continue to be accepted and disbursed until this ceiling is reached.

However, TOBB emphasized that loan approvals and firm selection are strictly managed by partner banks. The organization clarified that it, along with its affiliated chambers and exchanges, holds no authority in determining which firms receive credit or in approving or disbursing the funds.

Demand Exceeds Initial Limit

Due to overwhelming demand, TOBB has officially requested an increase in the program’s credit limit. If the request is approved, additional funds will be made available to more SMEs in need of financial relief.

“If our request is approved, the new loan limit will also be allocated for SME use,” the statement concluded.

The Nefes Loan is seen as a critical support mechanism for businesses amid ongoing economic pressures, helping improve liquidity and preserve operational capacity.
