Tesla Model Y Takes the Crown

New Brands, New Leaders in Market Rankings

Renault led the June brand rankings with 9,258 units, followed closely by Volkswagen (8,418) and Tesla (7,235). BYD continued its rise, securing fourth with 6,857 units, reinforcing the growing presence of Chinese manufacturers in the Turkish market.

SUVs Continue to Reign

SUVs made up a staggering 67.43% of June’s sales—that’s over 63,000 units out of the monthly total. This continues a growing trend where two out of every three cars sold in Türkiye are SUVs. From January to June, SUVs comprised 62.76% of the market. Leading the SUV pack in June was once again the Tesla Model Y, with BYD Seal U PHEV, Volkswagen T-Roc, and Togg T10X rounding out the top.

Locally Produced Models Hold Their Ground

Togg T10X, Türkiye’s electric SUV, remained a major player with 3,098 units, and the Fiat Egea Cross closed the top five. Overall, local models made up 24.12% of June sales.

Premium Segment: BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz Lead

In the premium market, SUVs again led the way. The BMW X1 was June’s top-selling premium model with 881 units, trailed by the Jaecoo 7 (802) and MINI Countryman (777). Mercedes-Benz topped the premium brand rankings for June with 2,658 sales, ahead of BMW and Audi.

A Market Transformed by Electrification and SUVs

June 2025 signaled a definitive turning point in Türkiye’s automotive landscape.
