Night of Fire: Mass Evacuations as Forests Burn in Muğla and Antalya

Turkey woke up to a wall of flames. Since last night, Muğla and Antalya have been battling back-to-back wildfires that spread rapidly under fierce winds.

🌲 Muğla:

• 7 fires broke out overnight.

• 4 have been contained, but Milas (Akkovanlık, Kıyıkışlacık) and Köyceğiz (Akköprü) remain critical.

• Locals joined firefighters through the night. With daylight, helicopters and planes joined the fight.

🌲 Antalya (Alanya):

• Flames reached homes in Ali Efendi neighborhood.

• Authorities ordered a full evacuation.

• Greenhouses were destroyed as crews battled through the night.

Officials warn that shifting winds are making the fight unpredictable, but the nationwide firefighting mobilization continues at full force.
