Google & Turkcell’s $3B Cloud Push: Türkiye Set for Major AI and Data Leap

Speaking at the Google Cloud Day Türkiye event in Istanbul, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced a transformative partnership between Google Cloud and Turkcell, describing it as a milestone that will significantly strengthen Türkiye’s position in data infrastructure, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence.

The collaboration includes the establishment of a hyper-scale cloud region, marking one of the most ambitious digital investments ever made in the country.

A $3 Billion Mega-Investment

Yılmaz highlighted the scale of the upcoming initiative, noting that both companies are committing substantial capital toward Türkiye’s digital ecosystem.

According to his statement, “Turkcell plans to invest 1 billion dollars in the project, while Google Cloud will contribute 2 billion dollars. Together, this amounts to a total investment of 3 billion dollars, which is extremely pleasing for our country.”
