Gaza on the Brink: 109 NGOs Call for Ceasefire and Unhindered Humanitarian Aid

Gaza Humanitarian Crisis

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens, 109 non-governmental organizations have issued an urgent joint statement warning of widespread famine and calling for a permanent ceasefire and unrestricted aid access. Meanwhile, Hamas has called for global protests in front of Israeli and U.S. embassies to raise awareness about the crisis.

Among the NGOs demanding immediate action are prominent groups such as Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Oxfam, and Save The Children. Their message is stark: civilians are facing starvation, and health workers are reaching their limits.

“Doctors report historic levels of malnutrition, especially among children and the elderly,” the statement read. “Diseases are spreading, markets are empty, waste is piling up, and people are fainting from hunger and thirst.”

Aid Blockades Leaving Gaza Starving

The NGOs revealed that only 28 trucks of aid per day are entering Gaza on average—a fraction of what’s needed to support over two million people. The groups claim the UN-led humanitarian system hasn’t failed—it’s being deliberately obstructed.

“This is not a logistical failure; it’s a political blockade,” the statement emphasized. “Governments must act before there’s no one left to save.”

Demands to the International Community

The joint appeal includes a list of concrete demands:

  • An immediate and permanent ceasefire

  • Removal of all bureaucratic barriers to aid

  • Full opening of all land crossings into Gaza

  • End to militarized aid distribution systems

  • Support for independent, impartial relief agencies

  • An immediate halt to arms transfers to Israel

The NGOs condemned token gestures like air-dropped aid or partial agreements, labeling them symbolic distractions that fail to fulfill state obligations to protect Palestinian civilians.

Hamas Urges Global Protests

In parallel, Hamas issued a statement urging people worldwide to demonstrate in front of Israeli and U.S. embassies over three days—Friday through Sunday—until the siege on Gaza ends.

“There will be no silence until the famine ends,” Hamas declared, reaffirming its commitment to continued resistance.
