Food Establishments in Türkiye Must Now Display QR Code for Consumer Transparency

A new regulation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry mandates that all food sales and mass consumption establishments in Türkiye must visibly display a “food business QR code” for consumer access. The amendment to the Regulation on Official Controls of Food and Feed, published in the Official Gazette, has officially come into effect.
QR Code Must Be Clearly Visible to Customers
The regulation requires that this QR code be placed in a spot easily visible to customers, enhancing transparency and traceability in the food service industry. The Ministry will outline the implementation guidelines and publish them on its official website, providing further clarity on how businesses should comply.
60-Day Compliance Period for Businesses
Once the official procedures and details are published, food businesses will be given a 60-day grace period to comply with the QR code display requirement. The rule aims to boost consumer confidence and ensure greater accountability in the food supply chain.
