Eurostat: Financial Satisfaction in Türkiye Among Lowest in Europe

According to Eurostat data, Turkish citizens rated their personal financial situation at just 4.7 out of 10 in 2022. This marks one of the lowest scores across Europe and a decline from 4.9 in 2018, highlighting a drop in financial satisfaction over the past five years.
Türkiye Far Below EU Average
While Türkiye’s score fell, the EU average rose from 6.5 in 2018 to 6.6 in 2022, showing relative stability across the bloc. The Eurozone (20 countries) also recorded the same average of 6.6.
Bulgaria Last, Portugal and Romania Rising

Bulgaria: Improved slightly from 4.3 to 4.6, but still ranked last in Europe.

Portugal: Jumped from 4.6 in 2013 to 6.9 in 2022, showing a remarkable turnaround.

Romania: Climbed to 6.6, surpassing Türkiye significantly.
Northern and Western Europe Lead
The highest levels of financial satisfaction were recorded in Northern and Western Europe:
