In a high-level phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a stark warning about the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, calling it a growing threat to regional and European security. Highlighting the risks of a new wave of migration and potential nuclear fallout, Erdoğan urged European nations to take the threat seriously.

According to a statement from the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and unfolding Middle East tensions, with Erdoğan emphasizing that Israel’s strike against Iran has triggered a dangerous chain reaction. He described the situation as not only a Middle East crisis but a pan-European security concern.

“The conflict between Israel and Iran poses serious risks for all, including Europe,” Erdoğan warned, pointing to the broader implications of the violence.

He reiterated that Turkey remains committed to diplomacy and is actively pursuing peaceful solutions to stabilize the region. Erdoğan stressed the need for resolving nuclear disputes with Iran through dialogue rather than confrontation.

The Turkish leader also highlighted the potential for mass migration and environmental disaster if the violence spirals further. He urged the international community, particularly European allies, to support Turkey’s ongoing peace initiatives.
