Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan Forge Stronger Ties in Lachin on Independence Day

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the start of a new era in Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan trilateral cooperation during a powerful speech ahead of the May 28 Independence Day concert held in the symbolic city of Lachin, recently liberated after decades of occupation.
“A new chapter is opening today in Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan trilateral cooperation,” President Aliyev declared, as cited by AZERTAC and News.Az.
“Our Unity is Our Strength,” Says Aliyev in Karabakh’s Lachin
The Azerbaijani leader emphasized that the mutual agreements and shared visions formed during the day’s discussions would further deepen the ties between the three “brotherly nations.”
“The issues we discussed today and the agreements we reached will bring us even closer together,” said Aliyev, highlighting the ever-strengthening bonds between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan.
He praised the consistent solidarity shown during difficult times, recalling with gratitude the political and moral support extended by Türkiye and Pakistan during the Second Karabakh War.
“Especially here in this region, in the city of Lachin, which was under occupation for 30 years, our being together carries great symbolic meaning,” Aliyev said.
“During the 44-day Second Karabakh War, Türkiye and Pakistan supported us. Their support inspired us and gave us additional strength.”
Shared Triumph and Cultural Celebration in Lachin
The concert in Lachin, attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, served not just as a celebration of Azerbaijan’s independence but also as a testament to the countries’ shared resilience and unity.
“The participation of my dear brothers – the President of Türkiye and the Prime Minister of Pakistan – alongside us in these celebratory events… has created completely new realities on a global scale,” Aliyev said.
“Our strength lies in our unity.”
A Message to the World from Liberated Land
President Aliyev concluded his speech by reiterating that the trilateral unity expressed in Lachin, now free after 30 years of occupation, is sending a clear diplomatic signal to the world.
“Today, we once again confirmed our unity in a trilateral format. The songs performed at today’s celebration concert will further demonstrate our unity and showcase how rich our culture is.”
“I am confident that the messages sent to the world today by the three countries from liberated Lachin will reach their intended destinations,” he added.
