Apple Antitrust Probe Expands to Include 10 Companies in Turkey

The Turkish Competition Authority has expanded its ongoing investigation into Apple to cover a total of 10 companies, intensifying scrutiny over potential anti-competitive practices in the buyback and resale market.
Initially launched on February 27, the investigation targeted Apple for allegedly setting resale prices for its products and coordinating buyback prices among third-party vendors. The probe raised concerns that such actions could distort market competition and limit consumer choice.
Four companies—Destek Bilişim, Easycep, Getmobil, and HB Bilişim Teknolojileri—were the first to be officially included in the probe due to their roles in the electronics buyback sector.
According to a report by Anadolu Agency (AA), the investigation has now been broadened to include five more companies and a digital platform provider:
-
Media Markt Turkey
-
Teknosa
-
Troy (Artı Bilgisayar)
-
Gürgençler Bilişim
-
Fintegre Teknoloji, which supplies platforms used by buyback firms
This move signals the Competition Authority’s increasing oversight of major players in Turkey’s electronics market, particularly as global brands like Apple navigate complex local pricing and resale ecosystems.
The investigation continues as regulators assess whether Apple and its partners have violated fair competition laws by manipulating pricing structures across the supply chain.
