Say Good-bye to Turkish democracy | video by Atilla Yesilada

democracy

Turkey’s all powerful president Erdogan is tired of democracy. He is now a world-class leader, who has his finger in everything from cease fire negotiations to end Iran War to saving Somalia. His main rival CHP leader Ozgur Ozel is giving him a lot of grief at home, dissuading voters from choosing Erdogan. Erdogan has lost every presidential poll since the last local elections on 31st of March 2025. He hoped to win in the next round of presidential elections, on account of economic tailwinds. Truly, had the war not broken,

Economy Czar Mehmet Simsek and Central Bank would have delivered lower inflation and decent growth in 2027, at the end of which Erdogan allegedly plans to hold early elections. This dream is gone with wind now. Like the rest of the world, Turkey will enter a painful stagflation. People will feel worse in 2027 than they do now.

At the end, Erdogan will not only eliminate CHP from politics, but he may even defer elections several years. How will he eliminate CHP? Can he defer elections and stay in power indefinitely? Watch our video.
