Authorities have detained Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey along with 54 others as part of an investigation led by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The probe involves a series of serious allegations, including:

- Membership in an organized crime group
- Bribery
- Money laundering
- Violations related to zoning and construction regulations
The coordinated operation was conducted simultaneously across Bursa, Istanbul, Balıkesir, and Diyarbakır.
Allegations Linked to Nilüfer Municipality Period
According to prosecutors, the investigation centers on activities during Bozbey’s tenure as mayor of Nilüfer district.
Authorities allege that Mustafa Bozbey and former Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem, along with municipal staff:

- Accepted bribes in exchange for these approvals
- Secured financial gains for themselves and project developers

Extensive Searches and Asset Seizures
Police units carried out large-scale searches as part of the operation, targeting:
- 51 residential properties
- 23 companies and workplaces
- 1 foundation-linked address
- Vehicles associated with the suspects
A total of 59 individuals were named in the investigation. While 55 have been detained, efforts to locate four fugitives are ongoing.
Search Underway at Bozbey’s Residence
Authorities also conducted a search at the residence of Mustafa Bozbey following the issuance of a detention order.
The operation began in the early morning hours under heightened security measures.
Family Members Among Those Detained
Reports indicate that the investigation extends beyond municipal officials to include individuals in Bozbey’s close circle.
Among those detained are:
- His chief of staff
- His spouse
- His daughter
- His daughter-in-law
- His sibling
