CHP official Yalçın Karatepe said Turkey needs a new production-driven economic model to eliminate its reliance on foreign currency, adding that the party’s economic program is ready for implementation.
Yalçın Karatepe, a senior figure in Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), said the country must transition to a production-based economic structure to end its dependence on foreign currency.
Karatepe stated that Turkey’s current economic framework, which relies heavily on external financing and imports, is unsustainable in the long term. He emphasized that reducing foreign currency needs requires strengthening domestic production and minimizing import dependency.
He added that the CHP has already prepared a comprehensive economic program aimed at addressing these structural challenges.
