University

The rising tuition fees of Türkiye’s private universities have hit record levels, pushing many students to consider studying abroad. For the 2025–2026 academic year, the annual cost for popular programs such as business and psychology exceeds ₺1.5 million, while the same degrees in the United Kingdom cost nearly half, starting at ₺582,000 and peaking at ₺760,000.

Türkiye’s Most Expensive Universities

According to newly released figures, Sabancı University leads the list with ₺1,595,000 in annual fees for business and psychology programs. It is followed closely by:

  • Koç University: ₺1,590,000

  • Özyeğin University: ₺1,385,000

  • Bahçeşehir University: ₺1,334,000

  • Kadir Has University: ₺1,230,000

These fees make Türkiye’s top private institutions significantly more expensive than many UK universities.

UK Universities Offer Lower Costs

A report by Ekonomim reveals that tuition in the UK remains much lower. For example:

  • Buckinghamshire New University: ₺582,000

  • Bolton University: ₺760,000 (the highest among the compared UK schools)

Even the UK’s most expensive option remains cheaper than most private universities in Türkiye.

Beyond Cost: Academic Advantages Abroad

The appeal of studying abroad is not limited to affordability. UK education also offers:

  • Internationally recognized diplomas

  • Global career and internship opportunities

  • Language skills improvement

  • Exposure to diverse cultures

As tuition fees soar at home, overseas education emerges as both an economical and academically rewarding alternative.
