Türkiye faced a severe drop in rainfall this July, with precipitation levels down 71% compared to the same month last year, according to Turkish State Meteorological Service data. Marmara Records Historic Low
The most dramatic decline occurred in the Marmara Region, where rainfall plunged 95%, marking the driest July in 65 years. Istanbul saw just one day of rain, while Yalova received no rainfall at all, making it the only province with a complete precipitation deficit.

Regional Contrasts in Rainfall
Rainfall distribution varied significantly. Rize topped the list with 89 kg/m², while Mersin and Karaman saw precipitation nearly double the seasonal norm. In contrast, Yalova’s rainfall dropped 100%, and provinces like Bartın, Bursa, İzmir, Bolu, Balıkesir, and Çanakkale experienced their driest July in recent years.
